The next name change, the next proposed monument, the next dumb thing out of his mouth—maybe we should be looking past these common occurrences to what’s really happening.
We know the MO, we’re aware that we’re dealing with a self-proclaimed deal maker par excellence who lies through his teeth and depends on misdirection to keep us off-balance and distracted.
We know a critical election is approaching and the Trump machinery is going to be whirring and humming and throwing every available wrench into the gears. So watch and listen for hints that the boom is in the process of being lowered—the USPS ruling on mail-in ballots, the prolonged war in Iran or some other event that might serve as some sort of excuse for postponing the elections altogether, a plan for placement of ICE agents or other goons at polling stations, and as yet unannounced road blocks that keep Democrats from voting.
These are the developments Trump and Miller and the rest want us to miss because we’re too busy chasing a squirrel up a tree and wasting our breath and broadcast time and newsprint on the next vanity project or air-headed sound bite from RFK, Jr. or Scott Bessent.
